Role Debut as Leporello in ‘Don Giovanni’ at Royal Opera House

On September 13, 16, 19, 21, 26, Christopher Maltman will make a thrilling role debut as Leporello in Don Giovanni at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. While this marks his first time as Don Giovanni’s trusty sidekick, he has performed the title role to wide acclaim throughout the world including at the Salzburg Festival, Bayerische Staatsoper, Ravinia Festival and, most recently, at the revered Teatro alla Scala. He also starred in a film adaption of the story directed by Kasper Holten who envisioned this particular ROH production.

With expert staging by Mr. Holten and innovative set, video and costume designs by Es Devlin, Luke Hall and Anja Vang Kragh (respectively), this production has become a favorite among opera-goers and critics alike as it delves into the psyche of the titular character through spectacular visual imagery and effects. These performances will also star Luca Micheletti as Don Giovanni, Maria Bengtsson as Donna Anna, Charles Castronovo as Don Ottavio, Paula Murrihy as Donna Elvira, Christina Gansch as Zerlina, Thomas Faulkner as Masetto and Adam Palka as Commendatore. Constantin Trinks conducts.
