‘Il trovatore’ with Washington National Opera

This fall, Christopher Maltman makes his Washington National Opera debut as Count di Luna in Giuseppe Verdi’s Il trovatore. A regular guest at the leading opera companies around the world, he has recently become particularly well-known in Verdian repertoire, with past performances of this villainous role taking him to Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

In this powerful new production by Brenna Corner, Mr. Maltman will share the stage with Latonia Moore as Leonora, Raehann Bryce-Davis as Azucena, Gwyn Hughes Jones as Manrico, and Ryan Speedo Green as Ferrando. Michele Gamba conducts.

Performances take place on October 22, 28, 30, November 2, 5, and 7.
