Brahms’ Requiem with the Philadelphia Orchestra

On January 26, 27 and 28, Christopher Maltman collaborates with the distinguished Philadelphia Orchestra under the direction of their chief conductor, Yannick Nézet-Séguin. These performances will feature Johannes Brahms’ glorious German Requiem, wherein Maltman and soprano Jeanine De Bique, will serve as the soloists, alongside the resonant voices of the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir.

The program will also feature violinist Gil Shaham in the world premiere of Mason Bates’ Nomad Concerto, a composition that will showcase the virtuosity of the instrument within an orchestral context. Additionally, Luis Peña Laguna’s Oraison will be performed, a compelling piece for chorus and orchestra, contributing a diverse and emotionally resonant dimension to the overall musical experience.
