On December 29, 30, and 31, Christopher Maltman will join the Munich Philharmonic as the bass soloist for performances of Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 9, celebrating the New Year in grand style.

Conducted by Nicholas Collon, the concerts feature a stellar quartet of soloists, including soprano Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha, alto Karen Cargill, and tenor Maximilian Schmitt, with Maltman rounding out the ensemble. The Philharmonischer Chor München, under the direction of chorus master Andreas Herrmann, will bring Beethoven’s timeless “Ode to Joy” to resounding life, marking a powerful close to the year.
